We only get one birthday to celebrate around here between the two of us, so we try to stretch it out.
We reserved the Saturday before our birthday to go to the beach as a family, but by the time it came around, we were exhausted from our Utah trip and just weren't feeling it. So instead we took a risk and let Jaden tag along with us to a matinee showing of Monsters University. Luckily Jaden did really well and we all loved it. Afterward we explored Historic Lewes and found THE coolest restaurant/juice bar for dinner called Nectar. Jaden was recovering from being sick, so he was really cranky. We found a toy store down the street from the restaurant where we played with their display Thomas and cooking toys for a good 45 minutes. Then all was well in Jaden's world. Of course we had to finish out the evening with Hopkins Dairy ice cream. Oh happy birthday to us :).

Our actual birthday was on Monday. We were so grateful for all the birthday love we were shown through Facebook, texts and calls. We seriously have the best friends and family ever. Mike and Connie treated us to mexican food on their lunch break, which was so thoughtful. And then for some reason my phone was being dumb and didn't update me on my messages and missed calls until halfway through the day. I checked my voice mail and had a message from my neighbor wishing Steve and me happy birthday and asking if she could please watch Jaden for the evening so we could go out and celebrate on our own. We weren't going to do anything because we had gone out on Saturday, so I was planning on passing up her offer, but the very next message was my mom telling us to go out to dinner on her dime. So of course we couldn't pass up those two offers together! Thank you Mom and Chelsea!!!
We tried out a new restaurant in Lewes called go brit! It had authentic British food and was so cute! Such a random restaurant for the Eastern Shore. It was awesome.
