"Watch. BASE. ball."

Every once in awhile Steve gets free tickets to games for the local baseball team here on the Eastern Shore. The first time we went this spring was HILARIOUS. Jaden was SO excited to "watch. BASE. ball."

ALL. DAY. LONG.

FINALLY the time arrived to go to the game. We were late because Steve placed his tickets and glasses on top of the car so he could put Jaden in his car seat. Of course we started driving off and they all flew off. We didn't realize what happened until we were a few minutes down the road. We turned around and had to go driving through our neighborhood to find all of our tickets because each one was in a totally different spot! And luckily the glasses survived, too. We were laughing the whole time. It was a perfect start to our evening.

Anyway, when we got to the game it had already started. We were letting Jaden walk by us, and he was SO excited. However, as soon as he got into the area where you could see the field and hear the crowd, he FREAKED out! He started running really fast, bawling, like he was scared for his life. We chased him and caught up to him at the front of the concession stand where he went straight into some lady's leg, crying his eyes out. We don't know why he was scared--it was loud? He couldn't see us walking right next to him and thought he was lost? Whatever it was, it was SO funny...kind of sad, but funny. Is that mean to say?

We calmed him down and Steve carried him to our seats. He was fine after that, except that he put his hands over his eyes and would NOT take them down. What in the world? He's never done anything like that before! We tried everything to get him to take his hands down. We gave him a sippy, tried to help him clap, distracted him, got food...nothing worked. He watched the game through his fingers, and was calm about it, but for some reason just did not trust the world. So our baseball adventure looked like this:
