wow.
we're having an adventure.
to say the least.
5 day road trip.

we crossed the country to come to an empty apartment.
to sit on camping chairs,
eat off a microwave box,
and sleep on an air mattress.
and it's been fun!
steve's parents drove one of our cars out for us so:
A) we wouldn't have to both drive, and
B) so they could help us move everything in and get organized.
now, after being here for three days, they're going home.
goal A) mission accomplished. (thank you!!!)
goal B) ...........
because our movers still aren't here with our stuff.
ADVENTURE.
so instead, goal B turned into keeping audrey company so she didn't have to sit in an empty apartment for three days with nothing to do but cry while steve worked.
an expensive and time-consuming goal,
but i was/am SO grateful.
this whole moving business has been quite the experience.
one i'm grateful for,
but would be really happy to not have to do again for a very. long. time.
i've definitely had lots of opportunities to think that this transition is really hard.
but right now i'm just focusing on counting my blessings.
the best husband in the world.
a good job amidst a lousy economy.
the opportunity to grow in ways i otherwise never would.
a great new ward with people who want to be our friends.
parents who love and support us in everything we do.
and who take us to lunch.
every day.
oh and two missionary brothers.
(can i please mooch off their blessings, too?)
etc. etc. etc.
and as i've counted my blessings, i've discovered something about myself.
i am SO happy.
humbled.
stressed.
scared out of my mind.
and happy.
{we've officially been from one side of the country (western hawaii) to the other (ocean city maryland) in one week. SO fun, but we're tired.}

Glad you made it safely! Hope your stuff gets there soon!!!
ReplyDeleteI miss you already! Even though we didn't really see that much of each other... Just the thought that you are so far away is sad and exciting. (interesting combination.) Love you! I am glad you get to start a new adventure! I am definitely ready for one. GET ME OUT OF THIS STINKING TOWN!
ReplyDeletei'm actually super jealous. im STUCK in utah...
ReplyDeleteIt was good for me to read a little bit about your adventures and the positive attitude you have. Being in San Antonio has been somewhat more of an adventure than I bargained for and I hate to admit it, but I've had a harder time moving and adjusting to a different way of life more than I thought I would, especially since my whole life I've wanted to "get out in the mission field." Now that I'm here it's been tough and I've been a bit of a complainer. So, I say that to let you know that it was a breath of fresh air to read a little about what you're going through and that you're able to be happy about it and look at it as an adventure. Love you Audrey...keep it up. I'll be waiting to read about more of your adventures out there!
