The religion of Jaden

When Jaden was two months old, Steve and I got an email from Stan (Steve's dad) in our inboxes. He wanted to introduce to us a new religion that he felt the need to invent because of the change in vocabulary and behavior at home since Jaden's arrival. Jadenism. Below is his definition:

Jadenism  [jay-den-iz-uhm] - noun

1. the basic following of certain grandparents, having its ethical, ceremonial, and legal foundation in the precepts centered around the first grandson, Jaden.
2. an eccentric collection of pictures, video chat, screen savers, backgrounds, wallpaper, wallet photos, scrapbooks and framed pictures having to do with Jaden.
3. significant dedication and pervasive thought toward Jaden that dominates the core of all discussions with friends, neighbors and strangers on the street.
4. shopping habits and practices influenced by Jaden.
5. belief in and conformity to this religion, its practices and ceremonies.
6. similar to Islam, requiring a hajj or annual holy trek to the birthplace of Jaden

We were laughing so hard! I love the annual holy trek part...so true. Can you tell Jaden is the first and only grandchild on both sides of the family? Anyway, I remembered that email today as I was working on a scrapbook calendar for next year. I just had to put it up on the blog for the sake of journaling and a good laugh. :) And here's a picture of the little mascot of the religion himself, following his daily routine and being Jaden in a way that only he can do best--finding the step stool so he can reach the water and "ICE!"on the fridge. We sure love him and he is growing up WAY too fast!!
